¹⁸ The pavement ran alongside the gates and was as deep as the gates were wide. This was the lower pavement. ¹⁹ Then the man measured from the ·outer wall [front of the lower gate] to the ·inner wall [^Lexterior face of the inner court]. The outer court between these two walls was ·one hundred seventy-five feet [^Lone hundred cubits] on the east and on the north.
